Siddaramaiah rushes from Delhi to Bengaluru as wife Parvathi remains in ICU

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Seshadripuram after her health deteriorated due to a respiratory complication. She developed a lung-related issue that caused acute breathing difficulty, following which she was rushed to the hospital and shifted to the ICU for specialised treatment.

A medical team led by Dr B.C. Srinivas is monitoring her condition in the ICU. Her son, MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, has been by her side, coordinating with doctors and family members.

In a significant development, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who had flown to New Delhi to meet the party high command and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, returned to Bengaluru early this morning and came directly from the airport to Apollo Hospital.

He spent over half an hour consulting doctors about Parvathi’s condition before leaving for official engagements. He later told reporters that her health was stable and showing signs of improvement.

Yathindra, speaking to the media, said doctors found fluid accumulation in Parvathi’s lungs, which triggered the breathing issue. He added that several tests were conducted and ICU care will continue. “Doctors have advised that she remain admitted till November 18. The Chief Minister will be visiting again. I will stay here with my mother,” he said.

As news spread, MLA Shivalingegowda rushed to the hospital but was not permitted to enter the ICU due to restrictions. He received updates from Yathindra and left.

Parvathi, who rarely appears in public, is known for her simplicity and low profile. Even during her visits to Chamundi Temple in Mysuru, she is seen standing in regular queues like common devotees. Her last public sighting was during her visit to Hasanamba Temple.

Hospital authorities say Parvathi’s condition remains stable but under careful observation. Further updates will be provided after ongoing medical assessments.
