Forecast for the First and Second Days (June 26 to June 28):
According to the weather maps for the first- and second-days June 26 to June 28, rainfall activity is expected to intensify over the coastal and northern interior regions of the state.
Coastal Karnataka:
Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada districts, where a Yellow Alert has been issued.
North Interior Karnataka:
Districts including Belagavi, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, and Haveri are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of 30–50 kmph until the morning of June 28. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions.
South Interior Karnataka:
There is no weather warning for districts such as Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, and other parts of South Interior Karnataka during this period.
Third-Day Forecast (June 28 to June 29):
The weather map for the third day indicates that the Yellow Alert will continue for the three coastal districts as well as Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Raichur, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, and Yadgir in North Interior Karnataka. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in these areas.
Fourth-Day Forecast (June 29 to June 30):
By the fourth day, rainfall activity is expected to weaken across North Interior Karnataka, with most districts returning to the No Warning (Green) category. However, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada will continue to remain under a Yellow Alert due to the possibility of heavy rainfall.
Fifth-Day Forecast (June 30 to July 1):
According to the fifth day’s weather map, rainfall is expected to become more active in both the coastal and Malnad regions. The Yellow Alert has been extended to Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu, where heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely.
The weather department has advised people in Yellow Alert districts to remain vigilant, as strong winds of 30–50 kmph may accompany the rain. Residents are urged not to take shelter under trees or near weak structures during thunderstorms and to stay indoors or move to safe locations whenever lightning occurs.
