Rain and Strong Winds Likely Across Coastal and Interior Karnataka During Next Twenty Four Hours

The weather department has forecast widespread rainfall along the Karnataka coast while several interior districts are expected to witness strong winds and scattered showers over the next day.

Several parts of Karnataka are expected to experience rainfall and gusty winds over the next 24 hours, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. Coastal districts are likely to receive widespread rain, while many interior regions may witness strong winds accompanied by light to moderate showers.

The coastal belt is expected to remain the most affected by the ongoing monsoon activity. Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are likely to receive widespread rainfall throughout the day. Weather officials have also predicted strong winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour across these districts, adding to the intensity of the monsoon conditions.

In the Malnad region of southern Karnataka, districts including Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu are expected to receive light rainfall at isolated locations. These areas could also experience strong winds, making weather conditions unstable during the forecast period.

Northern interior Karnataka is likely to witness mixed weather conditions. Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri may receive light to moderate rainfall at a few places, while wind speeds are expected to remain between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour.

Other northern districts such as Bagalkote, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir are less likely to receive significant rainfall. However, residents in these areas have been advised to prepare for strong and persistent winds that may continue through the day.

The forecast also indicates windy conditions across several southern interior districts. Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Ballari and Vijayanagara are expected to experience wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour even if rainfall remains limited in some locations.

Monsoon activity has remained active across Karnataka in recent days, especially in the coastal and hilly regions where continuous rainfall has been recorded. Weather officials are monitoring the situation closely as changing atmospheric conditions continue to influence rainfall patterns across the state.

Residents in districts likely to receive heavy rain or strong winds are advised to remain alert and follow updates issued by local authorities and weather agencies. People travelling through affected regions should also stay informed about changing weather conditions, particularly in coastal and hilly areas where rainfall may become more intense during the day.
