Karnataka Weather Update: Heavy rainfall is expected across several parts of Karnataka today, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a Yellow Alert for eight districts. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and take necessary precautions in view of the forecast.

According to the latest IMD forecast, rainfall activity is expected to intensify across Karnataka’s coastal and Malnad regions on July 10, with Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Shivamogga districts likely to receive heavy rainfall.

In addition, moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Kasaragod, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi, accompanied by cloudy skies, brief sunny spells, and intermittent gusty winds. Wind intensity is expected to be relatively lower, while Uttara Kannada could receive comparatively heavier rainfall.

Rain Forecast for North Karnataka:

The IMD has also forecast intermittent light to moderate rainfall across the northern interior districts of Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, and Bidar. Meanwhile, areas along the Maharashtra border in Bagalkote, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi are also likely to receive rainfall.

Heavy Rainfall of Up to 115.4 mm Expected:

The weather department has warned that some locations may receive very heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.4 mm. Such intense rainfall could trigger landslides, waterlogging, and flash floods, particularly in vulnerable regions. Residents in affected districts are urged to stay alert and follow official advisories.

Cloudy conditions are expected to persist in several other parts of the state. However, rainfall is likely to decrease across the north interior districts from July 10 onward, with drier and sunnier weather expected to return.

In south interior Karnataka, including Mysuru, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara, only isolated light showers are forecast, while the remaining districts are expected to experience a mix of sunshine and partly cloudy skies.
