RSS route march: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has completed 100 years of its journey and is celebrating its centenary by organizing route marches across Karnataka.
However, in several parts of the state, the RSS route march has faced opposition and administrative hurdles. Similarly, in Kembhavi town of Surapura taluk in Yadgir district, Dalit organizations had planned to stage protests against the march.
In this context, a peace meeting convened by the Surapura taluk administration today (November 3) was successful, and officials managed to convince Dalit leaders to withdraw their protest plans. Consequently, conditional permission has been granted for the RSS route march to take place tomorrow (November 4) in Kembhavi.
The peace meeting, held at the Kembhavi police station under the leadership of the Surapura Tahsildar and DySP, was attended by representatives of the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) and various political parties. Initially, DSS leaders insisted on holding a counter-march on the same day, but after prolonged discussions, they agreed to maintain peace. Following the meeting, District Collector Harshal Boyer reviewed the report and issued conditional approval for the RSS procession.
Officials stated that strict security measures will be in place to ensure law and order during the march. Police deployment across the town has been increased, and any attempt to disrupt the peace will be dealt with firmly.
Over the past few months, several controversies have surrounded RSS route marches in Karnataka. In Chittapur of Kalaburagi district, permission for an RSS procession was denied, while in Yadgir, local organizations and the DSS had also protested against such permissions. However, the Surapura administration took a diplomatic approach by involving political leaders and community representatives to reach a peaceful solution.
The RSS route march in Kembhavi will commence at 9:30 am on November 4 from the Kembhavi Town Municipality. The procession will move through key routes including Railway Station Road, Market Street, and the Gram Panchayat area before concluding. According to organizers, around 500 volunteers are expected to participate in the march.
The successful negotiation by the administration has ensured that the centenary celebration of the RSS in Kembhavi will proceed peacefully, with cooperation from all community groups.
