Pakistani Woman and Son Arrested in Karnataka for Alleged Illegal Stay After Visa Expiry
Police in Karnataka arrested a Pakistani woman and her son over alleged illegal stay and are investigating how they obtained multiple Indian identity documents without citizenship status.

Police in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district have arrested a Pakistani woman and her son for allegedly staying in India even after the expiry of their visas. The action was taken following an investigation in Dasagarepalli village of Bagepalli taluk, where the two had been living for several years.
According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Farhanaz and her son Mohammad Fardeen Khan. A case has been registered against them, and further legal proceedings are underway. Officials said both are Pakistani nationals and are accused of remaining in the country without valid immigration status.
The investigation has also raised questions about several identity documents allegedly obtained by the duo. Despite not holding Indian citizenship, they are suspected of possessing Aadhaar cards, ration cards, voter identity cards, and bank accounts. Police are now verifying the authenticity of these documents and examining how they were issued.
Preliminary findings indicate that Farhanaz had married Ayub Khan, a resident of Dasagarepalli village. The couple has two children, and police have confirmed that Mohammad Fardeen Khan was also taken into custody along with his mother. Authorities said both mother and son are believed to retain Pakistani citizenship.
Investigators further revealed that Ayub Khan is currently employed as a bus driver in Qatar. While he has been working overseas, Farhanaz and their children were reportedly residing in the village in Karnataka.
Police said the visas of Farhanaz and her children had expired, but they did not leave India after the validity period ended. Officials also stated that their visas were not renewed following Operation Sindoor, resulting in their continued stay becoming a violation of immigration rules.
Based on the complaint received, Bagepalli Police launched an inquiry before carrying out the arrests. Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine whether any additional legal violations were committed, particularly in relation to the alleged procurement of official identity documents. Further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing probe.
