Karnataka very heavy rain: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Karnataka for the next one week. Red alert and orange alert have been declared for some districts in Karnataka due to heavy rains. Holiday has been declared for some schools on June 4 due to heavy rains.
According to the forecast given by the India Meteorological Department, the Arabian Sea is witnessing strong winds and waves, and heavy rains are expected for the next one week.

Red alert on the coastal districts:
A red alert has been declared in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada districts of coastal Karnataka on July 4. A holiday has been declared for schools in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.
A red alert has been issued for the hill districts of Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu. Heavy rainfall is expected for the next one week.
Red alert:
A red alert means there is a possibility of heavy rainfall, with rainfall expected to exceed 204.5 mm. This could cause flooding, landslides and risk to life.
Holidays are declared for most schools in districts where a red alert has been declared. Similarly, some schools in Hassan, Uttara Kannada, and Dakshina Kannada districts have been given holidays on July 4.

Orange Alert:
An Orange Alert means that rainfall of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm is expected. This may cause road traffic disruption, localised flooding, and power outages in some areas.
Rain Forecast:
The IMD has forecast heavy rains for the next 10 days in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi. Residents of areas prone to flooding and landslides should be cautious and follow the instructions of local authorities.
The intensity of rainfall is expected to increase in the coastal and Malnad districts this weekend and next week.
