Karnataka unveils three major tech policies to position state as global innovation hub
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday unveiled three major policies—the Karnataka IT Policy 2025-2030, SpaceTech Policy 2025-2030, and Startup Policy 2025-2030—aimed at transforming the state into a global destination for innovation and deep-technology solutions.
Speaking after inaugurating the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the Chief Minister said Karnataka is not just participating in the global technology revolution but “leading it with confidence and clarity.”
Siddaramaiah emphasized Karnataka’s legacy of pioneering technology policy in India. “We launched India’s first IT policy in 1997. With these new policies, we continue that leadership,” he said.
Karnataka SpaceTech Policy 2025-2030:
The Chief Minister said the SpaceTech policy aims to position Karnataka as India’s premier space-technology hub, targeting 50% of the national market share by 2034 and 5% of the global market. He noted that the state already hosts a mature ecosystem of ISRO facilities, private space-tech startups, satellite design labs, and aerospace R&D centers.
Startup Policy 2025-2030:
The new Startup Policy aims to enable the creation of 25,000 startups in the next five years by strengthening funding access, market entry support, infrastructure, talent development and inclusion-focused innovation. Siddaramaiah said Karnataka remains India’s startup capital, contributing significantly to unicorns, deep-tech ventures, biotech innovation and AI-based solutions.
“Our message to the world is simple”
Reassuring global investors, researchers and innovators, Siddaramaiah said Karnataka offers an enabling ecosystem for breakthrough ideas.
“Whether you are a multinational setting up an R&D centre, a startup building your first prototype, an academic researcher or an investor seeking transformative ideas—Karnataka is your home,” he declared.
The 28th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit, themed “Futurise”, features exhibitions and conferences under nine key tracks, including deep tech, AI, semiconductors, digital health, biotech, defence and space.
