Karnataka Heavy Rainfall Alert: There is a possibility of heavy rain in some taluks of the coastal area, and the Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go to sea due to the extreme weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department has declared a yellow alert for about 20 districts in Karnataka today.

There is a possibility of light rain in the northern interior. Moderate rain is expected in the southern interior including Bangalore. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal and ghat areas.

Thunderstorms will occur in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi. Rain is expected to increase slightly in Belthangady, Puttur, Sulya, Kundapur and Karkala. Fishermen have been advised not to go to sea due to the extreme weather conditions.

Moderate rainfall is expected in the districts of the southern interior region such as Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Tumkur, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga and Shivamogga.

Light rainfall or cloudy weather is expected in the northern interior districts of Belgaum, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Haveri, Gadag, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Bellary, Raichur, Yadgir and Vijayanagar.

Thunderstorms forecast in Bengaluru:

Thunderstorms will occur in some parts of Bengaluru. 80 to 100 percent rainfall is expected, and the wind speed will be 14-20 kmph. The maximum temperature in the city will be 26 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will reach 22-26 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department said.
