Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ faces fresh trouble as video leak sparks Outrage

Bengaluru: South Indian actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited final film Jana Nayagan has landed in fresh controversy after a video clip from the movie was reportedly leaked on social media. The development has triggered outrage among fans and raised serious concerns within the film industry.

The film, which was initially scheduled for release on January 9, has already been facing multiple hurdles, including legal challenges. Now, the alleged leak of a five-minute clip has added to the troubles of the makers. Reports suggest that the leaked footage contains key scenes, including the introduction of Vijay’s character and even elements related to the film’s title reveal.

As soon as the video surfaced online, fans took to social media expressing anger and disappointment. Many tagged the production house KVN Productions, urging strict action against those responsible for the leak. Fans also appealed to others not to share or circulate the clip, highlighting the damage such incidents cause to the film’s success.

According to sources, the leak may have occurred during the editing or post-production stage. However, there is no clarity yet on who recorded or circulated the clip, making it a matter of serious concern for the filmmakers. Meanwhile, veteran actor Sathyaraj expressed shock over the development and urged the public to act responsibly. In a social media post, he appealed to audiences not to watch or share leaked content, emphasizing the immense effort and financial investment involved in filmmaking.

Film critic Amutha Bharathi also voiced concern, noting that the film, reportedly made on a massive budget of ₹400–500 crore, is now facing an additional setback. He suggested that the makers should expedite the censor certification process and aim for an early theatrical release to minimise potential losses.

‘Jana Nayagan’ holds special significance as it is expected to be Vijay’s final film before fully transitioning into politics through his party. With high expectations surrounding the project, repeated controversies and now the leak have put the spotlight firmly on the film’s future.
