Kantara Chapter 1 had a massive and highly successful opening day, establishing itself as one of the biggest initial launches of the year in Indian cinema. The estimated first-day collection for Kantara Chapter 1 in India is Rs 60 crore (net collection). Some reports also indicate that the film is nearing a worldwide opening day gross of over Rs 100 crore.
The film reportedly collected an estimated Rs 60 crore (approximately 600 million Indian Rupees) on its opening day across all languages in India. Some estimates even place it higher, close to Rs 65 crore. The success was widespread, with the Hindi dubbed version alone contributing estimated Rs 19-21 crore.

The film’s Day 1 collection surpassed the opening earnings of several other major releases of the year. This is an exceptionally strong start, especially when compared to the original Kantara (2022), which had a modest opening day collection of around Rs 2 crore before becoming a massive, word-of-mouth blockbuster.
The film opened to positive reviews, and top celebrities like Prabhas and Jr NTR publicly praised the film’s success, with Prabhas calling it a “brilliant film” and potentially the “biggest blockbuster of the year.” The film was released on October 2, 2025.
