Jio launches statewide AI education drive in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Reliance Jio has strengthened its commitment to making advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) accessible to all by launching a comprehensive AI education across Karnataka.

Through the ‘Jio AI Classroom’ initiative, the company aims to promote digital inclusion and provide hands-on AI training by partnering with schools and colleges across the state, preparing students and teachers for a technology-driven future.

With educational institutions across India rapidly integrating AI into classroom learning, the nature of education is undergoing a significant transformation. The Jio AI Classroom initiative is designed to equip both educators and students with essential AI skills, enabling schools to evolve into truly ‘AI-ready’ institutions.

The programme focuses on practical learning, helping participants understand real-world applications of AI rather than limiting training to theory. The campaign has witnessed strong early success in Karnataka, reaching more than 1,000 schools within a short period.

Over 10,000 teachers and students have registered for the specialised training sessions, which are being conducted by senior Jio executives and technology experts. The high participation levels highlight the growing interest in AI-based education and the demand for future-ready digital skills among young learners.

As part of its youth skill development initiative, Jio has introduced a four-week free online certification programme under the Jio AI Classroom banner. The structured curriculum is divided into four modules and includes video lectures, downloadable study materials, reference videos, interactive quizzes, and practical assignments.

Participants who successfully complete all modules will receive a completion badge, recognising their understanding of AI concepts and practical exposure. Learners accessing the programme through JioPC will also be eligible for a certification from the Jio Institute, which validates their hands-on knowledge gained through assignments and real-world exercises.

The course is designed to be self-paced and can be accessed via desktops or laptops, allowing students and teachers to learn at their convenience while gaining practical experience with AI tools.

In a major boost to digital empowerment, Jio is offering its unlimited 5G subscribers a complimentary 18-month Google Gemini Pro plan, valued at ₹35,100. This plan can be activated through the MyJio app and provides access to advanced AI-powered tools for content creation, image generation, video production, and research.

It also includes NotebookLM, an AI-assisted research tool, along with 2 TB of cloud storage, benefiting both students and educators. Further strengthening the initiative, JioPC has announced the ‘Jio PC AI Classroom Scholarship’ for learners who complete the AI foundation course.

The scholarship will support students in purchasing JioPC devices, enabling them to work on AI projects and practical experiments without the burden of expensive hardware. Students across Karnataka can enrol through www.jio.com/ai-classroom to gain essential AI knowledge and skills needed to compete in the global digital economy.
