Google Pixel 11a May Arrive With Dual Rear Cameras and Tensor G6

Google Pixel 11a is expected to bring a familiar Pixel design, dual rear cameras, a 120Hz display and Tensor G6 chipset as Google prepares its next entry level smartphone.

Google is reportedly preparing another affordable addition to its Pixel lineup, with the Google Pixel 11a expected to arrive as the successor to the Pixel 10a. Early leaks have now offered a closer look at the phone, including its possible design, display and hardware details.

The leaked computer aided design images suggest that Google is not planning a major visual change with the upcoming model. The Pixel 11a appears to follow the familiar Pixel design language, with a flat rear panel and a horizontal pill shaped camera section near the top. The camera area also includes an LED flash.

One noticeable difference is the size of the camera module. The unit shown in the leaked renders appears larger than the one used on the Pixel 10a. This has led to expectations that the Pixel 11a could continue with a dual camera arrangement while receiving changes to its camera hardware.

The front panel is expected to have a flat display surrounded by relatively thick bezels. A hole punch cutout is positioned at the top for the front camera. The power button and volume controls are reportedly placed along the right side of the device, keeping the overall layout close to the previous generation.

The Google Pixel 11a could be offered in four colours, with silver, purple, grey and black reportedly among the choices. These details are based on leaked information, so the final colour names and availability may change when Google officially introduces the smartphone.

Display specifications have also surfaced through earlier reports. The Pixel 11a is expected to feature a 6.3 inch screen with a resolution of 1080 by 2424 pixels. The panel could support a 120Hz refresh rate and reach up to 2250 nits of peak brightness.

Performance is another area where the Pixel 11a could receive a major upgrade. Reports suggest that Google may use its Tensor G6 chipset in the smartphone. The company has not officially confirmed the processor or other internal hardware at this stage.

The Pixel 11a is expected to replace the Pixel 10a, which features a 6.3 inch pOLED display with the same 1080 by 2424 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The older model is rated for up to 3000 nits of peak brightness and uses Google proprietary G4 chipset along with the Titan M2 security coprocessor.

The Pixel 10a also comes with a dual rear camera system. It includes a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation, along with a 13MP ultra wide camera. A 13MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.

Battery and connectivity are also well covered on the Pixel 10a. It has a 5100mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging and 10W wireless charging. The phone supports 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB Type C connectivity.

For the Pixel 11a, Google has yet to reveal an official launch date or confirm the leaked specifications. If the reported details prove accurate, the new model could retain the familiar Pixel appearance while bringing updated processing hardware and changes to its camera design.
