In recent update the Asia Cup 2025 match between Pakistan and the UAE has been delayed by one hour, following a period of uncertainty. The match, which was originally scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM IST, will now start at 9:00 PM IST.
The delay comes after a tense situation stemming from a “handshake row” during the recent match between Pakistan and India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had demanded the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft, alleging he was responsible for the post-match incident where Indian players did not shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts.
The ICC rejected this demand, leading to speculation that Pakistan might even forfeit the match. However, despite earlier reports suggesting the team had been asked to stay at their hotel, a PCB spokesperson confirmed that the players had departed for the stadium.

The delay was reportedly implemented as consultations continued between the PCB and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to resolve the matter. The match is a must-win for Pakistan to qualify for the Super Four stage of the tournament.
