India vs Australia 5th T20I: Match Abandoned; India Clinch Series 2-1
India vs Australia 5th T20I: India successfully clinched the five-match T20I series against Australia with a 2-1 victory. The final match being abandoned due to rain sealed the series in India’s favour.
Team India avenged the loss in the ODI series by winning the five-match T20 series between the two teams 2-1. The final match of the series held in Brisbane was called off due to rain. Thus, the rain did not allow Australia, who were hoping to win the last match and draw the T20 series, to win.

With this, Team India also wrote a record of winning the fifth consecutive T20 series in Australia. In the final match of the series held in Brisbane on Saturday, November 8, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl first. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma gave an explosive start to the team for Team India.
But as soon as Team India crossed the 50-run mark, the match was abandoned due to bad weather. All the players returned to the pavilion due to lightning and storm in Brisbane. By then, Team India’s score was 52 runs in 4.5 overs, without losing any wickets.

However, rain started after some time, and after waiting for about two hours, the umpires decided to abandon the match. By the time the match was stopped, Shubman Gill had scored 29 runs in 16 balls and Abhishek 23 runs in 13 balls, remaining unbeaten.
Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was named the Player of the Series for his explosive performances, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 163 runs. During his brief innings in the 5th T20I, he also became the second-fastest Indian to reach 1,000 T20I runs.
