Asia Cup 2025: MLA son appointed as the Team India manager
Asia Cup 2025: It has been officially confirmed that PVR Prashanth, a former vice-president of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and son of MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu, has been appointed as the Team India manager for the Asia Cup 2025.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nominated him for the role for the tournament, which is being held in Dubai from September 9 to 28. His appointment is expected to provide valuable support and smooth coordination for the team throughout the competition.
P.V.R. Prashanth’s father, Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu (also known as Anji Babu), is an MLA from Bhimavaram, who joined the Jana Sena Party in 2024. Additionally, P.V.R. Prashanth is the son-in-law of Ganta Srinivasa Rao, a current TDP MLA from Bheemili.
Prashanth has a background in cricket administration, having previously served as the vice-president of the Andhra Cricket Association. He has also played district-level cricket. His appointment is seen as a significant move, as he is the first person from the Andhra region to be appointed as the Indian team’s manager in 28 years.

The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to September 28. The tournament will be played in the T20 format as a lead-up to the T20 World Cup.
Team India is in Group A, along with Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. Here is their schedule for the group stage:
September 10: India vs United Arab Emirates at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (8:00 PM IST)
September 14: India vs Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (8:00 PM IST)
September 19: India vs Oman at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi (8:00 PM IST)
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 stage, and the top two teams from the Super 4 will play in the final on September 28 in Dubai.
