Ajit Pawar: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and three others were killed when their plane crashed in Pune distrit on Wednesday morning.

This is a developing and deeply tragic situation. Reports have confirmed that earlier today, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a private aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar crashed in the Baramati area of Pune district.

The crash occurred in Baramati, Pune, while the aircraft was attempting to land. Preliminary reports suggest the plane encountered technical difficulties or instability during its final approach, leading to a crash on the runway. Visuals from the site show the wreckage engulfed in flames.

Some reports indicate there may have been up to six people on the aircraft in total, including his security detail.
