Australia had previously lost in the Women’s World Cup in 2017. They have not lost a single match since then. Surprisingly, it was the same Indian women’s team that defeated Australia in 2017.

India and South Africa title fight in final match:

Now, Team India, which has defeated Australia in the second semi-final of the 2025 Women’s World Cup, will face South Africa in the final to be held on November 2, 2025. Whichever team wins this final match; the world will have a new world champion. The final match will also be held at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

The Indian team has qualified for the Women’s ODI World Cup final for the third time. Before this, the Indian team had finished runner-up in 2005 and 2017. Also, by chasing a target of 338 runs in this match, Team India became the first team to successfully chase a target of more than 300 runs in an ODI World Cup knockout match (men’s or women’s).

The highest chase was 298 runs by New Zealand against South Africa in the semi-final of the 2015 Men’s World Cup. India will face South Africa in Women’s World Cup 2025 final match on Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, India.
