Yathindra Siddaramaiah names Satish Jarkiholi as potential Congress leader after CM Siddaramaiah

Belagavi: In a statement that has triggered political discussions within the Karnataka Congress, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has said that Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi is capable of leading the Congress party in the state after his father’s tenure.

Speaking at the Kanakadasa statue unveiling event in Kappalaguddi village of Raibag taluk, Yathindra said, “We need a leader with progressive and rational ideology. Satish Jarkiholi has such commitment and is capable of taking on this responsibility.”

Referring to his father’s advancing political career, Yathindra said, “My father is in the final phase of his political journey. At this juncture, a leader who is ideologically strong and progressive should take up the responsibility of guiding the party forward. Satish Jarkiholi is well suited for that role.”

Yathindra further added that Jarkiholi has been a symbol of ideological consistency and social justice, which are rare qualities in today’s political climate. “Finding leaders who stand by principles is difficult. Satish Jarkiholi has upheld the values of the Congress party, and I believe he will continue to lead us with the same conviction,” he said.

The remarks have drawn attention as they come at a time when internal discussions about Congress’s next generation of leadership are quietly taking shape in Karnataka.
