West Indies create world record in ODI cricket history

West Indies create world record: It has been 93 years since the start of ODI cricket. In these 93 years, more than a thousand matches have been played. But in a way that has never been seen or heard before, the West Indies team has set a new world record in ODI cricket.

The world record created by West Indies and Bangladesh during their second ODI in Dhaka was for the most overs bowled by spinners in a single One Day International match. The spinners from both teams collectively bowled 92 overs out of the possible 100, which is the highest in the 54-year history of ODI cricket.

West Indies became the first-ever team in ODI history (a full member nation) to use only spin bowlers for their entire 50-over quota in an innings against Bangladesh. They used five spinners who each bowled 10 overs.

This means that for the first time in the history of ODI cricket, spinners have bowled 50 overs. West Indies spinners Akhil Hossain, Roston Chase, Khari Peary, Gudkesh Moti and Alik Athanas have created a new world record by bowling 10 overs each.

Earlier, such a world record was in the name of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had bowled 44 overs by spinners in matches against West Indies (1996), New Zealand (1998), and Australia (2004).

Now, the West Indies team has succeeded in breaking this record. On the Dhaka pitch, spinners Akhil Hossain, Roston Chase, Khari Peary, Gudkesh Moti and Alik Athanas have completed 50 overs with 10 overs each, creating new history in ODI cricket.
