School Holiday: students will get holiday till October 22
School Holiday: The social and educational survey being conducted by the government has caused stress and headaches for government school teachers, but in a sense it has hit the jackpot for the children.
The social and educational survey began in the state from September 22, and began in Bengaluru from October 4. Karnataka school’s students will get holiday till October 22.
Primary and high school teachers have been assigned for the social and educational census survey conducted by the state government. The questions in the survey are long, and each one takes 15-25 minutes, so it is not possible to complete the survey quickly.
It is not possible for teachers to conduct classes in the morning and conduct the survey only in the afternoon, or to conduct the survey in the morning and conduct classes in the afternoon.
The Karnataka government extended the Dasara holidays for government and aided schools until October 18, 2025. This extension was announced by the Chief Minister to allow teachers, who are acting as enumerators, to complete the ongoing statewide Socio-Economic and Educational Survey (often referred to as the ‘caste survey’).
Dasara holiday will end on October 18 and October 19 is Sunday, October 20 is Monday Naraka Chaturdashi, October 21 holiday for Deepavali and October 22 is Balipadyami, so 3 days’ holiday for deepavali as usuall.
The actual reopening date will be after the Deepavali break, which is Thursday, October 23, 2025. This makes the effective closure for government schools nearly a month long. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that special classes would be conducted to cover the lost syllabus.
