PM Kisan Yojana: 5 lakh farmers will not receive upcoming installment

PM Kisan Yojana: Recent reports (July 2025) indicating that approximately 5 lakh farmers may not receive the upcoming Rs 2000 installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY).

The primary reason cited for this exclusion is typically incomplete e-KYC (Know Your Customer) or issues with Aadhaar-bank account linking.

Is your name there (among those not receiving the installment)?

To check if you are affected and to ensure you receive future installments, you need to verify your status. Here’s how:

1.Check your Beneficiary Status and e-KYC on the PM Kisan Portal:

Visit the official PM KISAN website:

    To check Beneficiary Status:

On the homepage, under ‘Farmer’s Corner’, click on “Know Your Status” or “Beneficiary Status”.

You will likely need to enter your Registration Number or Aadhaar Number, and then verify with an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

This will display your payment status, e-KYC status, and any potential issues.

    To check/complete e-KYC:

On the homepage, under ‘Farmer’s Corner’, click on “e-KYC”.

Enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha code.

You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to complete the e-KYC.

If you face issues with OTP verification (e.g., if your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar), you may need to visit a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric e-KYC.

    2.Check the Beneficiary List (Village-wise):

Visit the official PM KISAN website: [suspicious link removed]

On the homepage, under ‘Farmer’s Corner’, click on “Beneficiary List”.

Fill in the required details: Select your State, District, Sub-District, Block, and Village.

Click the ‘Get Report’ button to see the list of beneficiaries in your area. You can check if your name is on this list.

Reasons why farmers might not receive the installment:

Incomplete e-KYC: This is a mandatory requirement now.

Aadhaar-Bank Account Linking Issues: Your bank account must be linked to your Aadhaar card.

DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) Option Not Active: Ensure that your bank account is enabled for DBT.

Incorrect Bank Details: Any mismatch in IFSC code, account number, or name in your bank details can cause the payment to fail.

Exclusion Criteria: The scheme has specific exclusion criteria. For example, institutional landholders, income tax payers, current or former constitutional post holders, serving or retired government employees (excluding certain low-grade staff), and professionals like doctors, engineers, etc., are generally not eligible.

Land Record Issues: Discrepancies in land ownership documents can also lead to exclusion.

What to do if your name is not on the list or you have issues:

      Complete e-KYC immediately.

Link your Aadhaar to your bank account and ensure DBT is active.

Correct any incorrect details on the PM Kisan portal (e.g., land records, bank details) through the “Farmer’s Corner” section.

Contact the PM Kisan Helpline: 155261 or 011-24300606.

Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or State Agriculture Office for assistance.

It’s crucial to address any pending requirements to ensure you continue to receive the financial assistance under the PM-KISAN scheme.
