Free Electricity up to 300 units: Apply immediately to this new scheme

Free Electricity: The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a significant initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing free electricity to households by promoting rooftop solar installations. Free electricity up to 300 units: Apply immediately to this new scheme.

The primary goal of the scheme is to enable 1 crore households across India to generate their own electricity through rooftop solar panels, thereby reducing their electricity bills and contributing to sustainable energy.

The scheme aims to help beneficiaries get up to 300 units of electricity free every month. This is achieved by installing a suitable rooftop solar system (typically a 2-3 kW system for households consuming 150-300 units/month).

How it Works:

When you install a rooftop solar system under this scheme, it generates electricity.

This electricity first powers your household appliances.

Any excess electricity generated is fed back into the grid through a net metering system.

The Electricity Distribution Company (DISCOM) then credits your electricity bill for the surplus power supplied.

This credit helps offset your consumption from the grid, effectively making up to 300 units of your electricity consumption free or significantly reducing your bill.

Subsidy Component: To encourage installations, the scheme provides significant central financial assistance (subsidy) directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. For systems up to 2 kW capacity, the subsidy is 60% of the solar unit cost (up to Rs 30,000 per kW, max Rs 60,000 for 2 kW).

For systems between 2 kW and 3 kW capacity, an additional 40% of the cost is subsidized (up to Rs 18,000 for the additional kW, making it a maximum of Rs 78,000 for a 3 kW system). The subsidy is capped at a 3 kW capacity for residential consumers.
