DK Shivakumar finally breaks silence on Karnataka CM change issue
DK Shivakumar: In recent days, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has publicly addressed the ongoing speculation about a change in the Chief Minister’s position in Karnataka. DK Shivakumar finally breaks silence on Karnataka CM change issue.
Shivakumar has categorically stated that there is no discussion within the party about changing the leadership. He emphasized that the focus is on strengthening Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s hand and the current government.

He has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against any party members who make public statements suggesting a shift in power. He specifically mentioned issuing a notice to MLA Iqbal Hussain, who had claimed Shivakumar might become CM in the next 2-3 months.
Shivakumar stressed the importance of party discipline and stated that no one is in a hurry, with the 2028 elections being the main priority.
When asked about supporting Siddaramaiah’s continuation as CM for the full five-year term, Shivakumar responded by saying, “What option do I have? I have to stand by him and support him. I don’t have any objection to it. Whatever the party high command tells and whatever they decide, it will be fulfilled.” He clarified this remark later, stating that his party’s decision and leadership are important, and they are focused on winning the 2028 elections.
DK Shivakumar has also stated that there is no disgruntlement within the ruling Congress party, and that the meetings being held by AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala are for fixing accountability and preparing for future elections, not for discussing leadership change.

He acknowledged that many individuals, including himself, have worked hard for the party, and it’s important to think about all the party workers first.
