Poco M8x 5G is preparing to make its India debut, with the company highlighting its battery capacity, performance and cooling capabilities ahead of the launch.

The smartphone is scheduled to launch in India on August 21. A dedicated listing on Flipkart has already revealed several details, including its colour choices and exterior design. Buyers will reportedly be able to choose between Blue, Leather Green and Black finishes, with the green version featuring a vegan leather back.

The upcoming phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. Poco claims the chipset can deliver faster app performance, while the device has reportedly crossed 650,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. For sustained performance, the company is adding a triple cooling setup featuring a 12,439 square millimetre graphite area and a 1,924 square millimetre copper foil layer.

Battery life is another major focus of the Poco M8x 5G. The phone will carry a 7,900mAh battery, which Poco says can last for up to three days on a full charge. The company also claims around 35 hours of social media use and nearly 64 hours of music playback. The device will additionally support 22.5W wired reverse charging.

The design will feature a flat middle frame with a metallic finish, while the camera module and frame are expected to carry a gold toned finish. The Poco branding will sit near the centre of the lower rear panel, with the power and volume buttons placed along the right edge.

On the software front, Poco has promised four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The phone will run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, giving the device a relatively long software support cycle for its segment.

The Poco M8x 5G is also expected to appeal to users who prioritise endurance over charging speed. With its unusually large battery and cooling hardware, the phone appears positioned as a performance focused option in the affordable 5G category.
