The first installment for the financial year 2026-27 will be credited directly into farmers’ bank accounts on Saturday. Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd installment from Assam. Now, he will be releasing the 23th installment from Tarakeswar in the Hooghly district of West Bengal.
Under this scheme, a total of Rs 18,880 crore will be credited into the accounts of about 9.44 crore farmers across the country. In light of this, the Central Government has issued an important announcement stating that e-KYC is mandatory for beneficiaries to receive the PM-Kisan money.
OTP is Mandatory:
The Center has stated that OTP-based e-KYC can be done through the PM-Kisan portal. For biometric-based KYC, farmers can visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC). According to PM-Kisan guidelines, the department has identified some suspicious cases and removed them from the beneficiary list.
Furthermore, for farmers who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019, or if more than one person in a family is availing of the scheme’s benefits, their funds have been temporarily withheld until physical verification is complete. Farmers can verify their eligibility via the ‘Know Your Status’ feature on the PM-Kisan website or mobile app, or through the ‘Kisan e-Mitra’ chatbot.

1. Open the official PM-Kisan website: https://pmkisan.gov.in/
2. Scroll down on the homepage and select the ‘Beneficiary List’ option.
3. Enter your State, District, Sub-district, Block, and Village details.
4. Click on ‘Get Report’.
5. The beneficiary list for your Gram Panchayat will now appear on the screen.
If your name is on this list and your KYC is complete, you will definitely receive the money. Since PM Modi is releasing the funds today, please check whether your name is on the list. If your name is missing, contact local officials for details or file a complaint through the Grievance Cell on the PM-Kisan website.
