Bengaluru: As the leadership change drama in Karnataka politics draws to a happy ending, all eyes are now on the new cabinet of DK Shivakumar, who is set to take charge as the next Chief Minister. Karnataka New CM: List of Probable Ministers to Join Shivakumar’s Cabinet!
It is reliably learnt that the DK Shivakumar camp is formulating a major strategy to ensure regional balance, caste equations, and priority for loyalists in this new ministry, which will be formed with the high command’s approval.
Who Might Get a Place in the Cabinet? (Probable List):
According to political analyst and internal sources, the following prominent leaders are likely to find a place in DK Shivakumar’s probable cabinet:
Continuation of Senior Leaders: Senior and experienced leaders like G. Parameshwara, H.K. Patil, Ramalinga Reddy, K.J. George, Krishna Byre Gowda, and M.B. Patil are highly likely to be retained in the new cabinet.
Preference for the DK Shivakumar Inner Circle: Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Priyank Kharge, Eshwar Khandre, Chaluvarayaswamy, and B.K. Hariprasad, who have stood by DK Shivakumar through his long political struggles, are expected to bag key portfolios.
Reports suggest that the Koujalagi family of Belagavi, which has a decades-long history in state politics and has served the public for generations, might get a cabinet berth this time. Mahantesh Koujalagi, the MLA from Bailhongal, an education enthusiast, and a close aide of DK Shivakumar, is highly likely to become a minister for the first time.
Opportunities for New Faces: It is said that some new and young MLAs who worked hard for party organization in Old Mysore, Kalyana Karnataka, and Kittur Karnataka regions might get lucky with a ministerial berth this time.
Priority for Caste and Regional Equations:
Keeping future elections and the party’s prospects in mind, the high command has prepared a formula to give equal representation to Lingayat, Vokkaliga, Dalit, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and minority communities.
Political analysts opine that utmost care is being taken to prevent any outbursts of discontent within the party by maintaining the status quo for key ministers belonging to Siddaramaiah’s close circle. The official list of ministers will reach the Raj Bhavan in the next few days, right after the final round of meetings with high command leaders in Delhi.
