Prostitution racket busted in Bengaluru, four arrested and women rescued

Bengaluru, : In a coordinated crackdown, Bengaluru Police have busted a prostitution racket operating out of multiple rented houses across the city, arresting four individuals, including two women, and rescuing several victims.
According to officials, the raid was led by the Central Crime Branch’s Women Protection Wing after receiving credible intelligence about illegal activities being carried out in residential areas. Raids were conducted at houses located in Padmanabhanagar, RK Layout, Sundarnagar and NGF Layout over multiple days.
Police said that at least four young women, who were allegedly forced into prostitution, were rescued during the operation. Authorities suspect that the victims were lured or coerced into the illegal trade and kept in rented accommodations to run the racket discreetly.
Confirming the arrests, Seemanth Kumar Singh said in a statement that four accused have been taken into custody. “Among them are two women who were allegedly managing the network and forcing others into prostitution,” he said.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused used mobile phones to contact potential clients and arranged meetings at rented houses. The illegal activities were conducted in a covert manner to avoid detection, with the network operating across different parts of the city.
Police sources indicated that the racket was organised and profit-driven, with the accused coordinating logistics, client communication and movement of victims between locations. Efforts are underway to identify whether more people are involved in the network.
Cases have been registered at Subramanyapura Police Station, Jalahalli Police Station and Jnanabharathi Police Station under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is in progress to trace the origins of the racket and identify additional victims or accused.
