Minor Dispute Turns Violent In Kalaburagi Village, Two Brothers Brutally Assaulted

Kalaburagi ;A minor argument over parked autorickshaws turned into a violent assault in Kalaburagi district, leaving two brothers seriously injured. The incident took place in Bhimalli village of Kalaburagi taluk and has raised concerns over rising intolerance and law-and-order issues in rural areas.
According to the complaint filed by the victims’ family, Totendra and Sunil, residents of Nalwar village in Chittapur taluk, had travelled to Bhimalli to drop their sister at her husband’s house. After completing their visit, the brothers were returning in their car when they encountered two autorickshaws parked in the middle of the road, blocking their way.
The brothers politely requested the auto drivers to move the vehicles slightly so their car could pass. However, this simple request allegedly triggered a violent reaction. The auto owner, identified as Syed Jameer, along with his brothers Saifab Onti, Arif, Asif and Imran, reportedly attacked the two men.
The accused allegedly used wooden sticks to assault Totendra and Sunil, causing serious injuries. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the attackers acted aggressively and continued the assault despite the victims trying to defend themselves.
The situation escalated further when the victims’ family members, including their mother and sister, attempted to intervene. They too were allegedly assaulted and verbally abused. The accused reportedly threatened the victims, warning them not to return to the village.
The victims’ family has lodged a complaint at the Kalaburagi Sub-Urban Police Station, stating that the attack was unprovoked and disproportionate. They have also requested police protection, fearing further threats from the accused.
Based on the complaint, police have registered an FIR against Syed Jameer and his brothers under various sections related to assault, criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly. Authorities have launched an investigation and are examining the sequence of events, along with collecting statements from witnesses.
Local residents have expressed concern over the incident, stating that even trivial issues are increasingly leading to violent confrontations. They have urged the police to take strict action against the accused to ensure justice and deter similar incidents in the future.
Police officials have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken after a thorough investigation.
