The Kerala Story 2 OTT Release Date Announced, Set To Stream On Zee5
Bengaluru ;The film The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, starring Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, is all set for its digital debut after its theatrical run earlier this year. The movie, which hit theatres on February 27 and saw moderate box office success, will begin streaming on ZEE5 from May 1.
Produced under the banner of Sunshine Pictures by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film had generated considerable buzz during its release, including facing opposition from certain sections. Despite mixed reactions, it managed to draw audiences to theatres and maintain a steady performance.
The OTT platform officially announced the release date through its social media handles, sharing a poster and a brief teaser description. The platform hinted at the film’s intense narrative, revolving around the lives of characters Divya, Neha, and Surekha, whose dreams spiral into disturbing realities.
The film will be available not only in Hindi but also in multiple regional languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, making it accessible to a wider audience across India.
The first installment, The Kerala Story, had turned out to be a massive commercial success upon its release in 2023. Made on a modest budget of around ₹15 crore, the film reportedly grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide, emerging as one of the most profitable Hindi films in recent years. It also received recognition at the national level for its direction and cinematography.
However, the sequel “The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond” did not replicate the same level of success. While it attracted initial attention due to the legacy of the first film, it fell short of expectations at the box office.
With its OTT release now confirmed, the film is expected to find a new audience base on digital platforms. Industry observers believe that streaming could help the film gain traction among viewers who missed its theatrical run.
The May 1 release is likely to generate renewed interest, especially among fans of the original film and those curious about the sequel’s narrative.
