Huawei Watch 6 Series Launched With Up To 11 Days Battery Life

Huawei has launched the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro in China with bright LTPO AMOLED displays, multiple health sensors, premium designs and battery life reaching 11 days.

Huawei has expanded its smartwatch lineup in China with the launch of the Huawei Watch 6 and Huawei Watch 6 Pro. The new models focus on a combination of premium design, bright displays, health tracking features and longer battery life.

The Watch 6 series is available in different case sizes, giving buyers several options depending on their preference. The standard Watch 6 comes in 42mm and 46mm versions, while the Watch 6 Pro is offered in 43mm and 46mm sizes.

Battery life is one of the biggest highlights of the new watches. Huawei says the smaller models can provide up to seven days of use, while the larger 46mm versions can last for up to 11 days on a single charge.

Huawei Watch 6 Price And Availability

The Huawei Watch 6 42mm has been priced at 2,799 yuan in China, which is approximately Rs 39,385. It is available in Frost White, Dawn Gold and Phantom Black colours.

The larger Huawei Watch 6 46mm costs 2,899 yuan, or around Rs 40,795. This version comes in Sky Blue and Firmament Black colour options.

For buyers looking at the Pro models, the Huawei Watch 6 Pro 43mm is priced at 3,499 yuan, approximately Rs 49,235. It is offered in Ceramic White and Star White finishes.

Both Pro models are currently available for pre order in China, while sales are scheduled to begin on September 23.

Bright LTPO AMOLED Displays

The display is another major part of the Watch 6 experience. The 42mm Huawei Watch 6 gets a 1.38 inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel with a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels. It offers a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a pixel density of 338 PPI.

The 46mm version comes with a larger 1.5 inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display. It retains the 466 by 466 pixel resolution and 3000 nits peak brightness, while offering 310 PPI.

The Watch 6 Pro follows a similar display setup. Its 43mm model features a 1.38 inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen with 466 by 466 pixel resolution, 3000 nits brightness and 338 PPI.

The 46mm Pro variant gets a 1.5 inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel with the same resolution and brightness, along with 310 PPI.

Health Features Take Centre Stage

Huawei has packed the Watch 6 series with a broad range of sensors aimed at health and activity tracking. The watches include an optical heart rate sensor, ECG functionality, a temperature sensor, an ambient light sensor and a barometric pressure sensor.

Other hardware includes an accelerometer, gyroscope and geomagnetic sensor. The watches also feature depth related sensing and Huawei’s X TEP smart window technology.

These features make the watches suitable for users who want to monitor everyday activity and health related measurements from their wrist. However, smartwatch health readings are not a replacement for professional medical evaluation.

Connectivity And Build

The Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro support Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC and Huawei’s Star Flash connectivity technology. The watches also use a combination of a power button, function button and rotating crown for navigation and controls.

Both models carry 5ATM water resistance and an IP69 rating. Huawei has also specified operating temperature ranges for the watches. The Watch 6 is designed for use in temperatures ranging from 0 degrees Celsius to minus 30 degrees Celsius, while the Watch 6 Pro is rated for conditions reaching minus 35 degrees Celsius.

The standard Watch 6 42mm measures 42.3mm in length and width, with a thickness of 10.2mm and a weight of 38 grams. The 46mm model measures 46.4mm in length and width, is 10.9mm thick and weighs 60 grams.

Watch 6 Pro Sizes And Weight

The Huawei Watch 6 Pro 43mm measures 43.5mm in length and width, with a thickness of 10.2mm. It weighs 50 grams.

The 46mm version measures 46.4mm in length and width and has a thickness of 10.9mm. Its weight is listed at 57 grams.

The Space Exploration edition has the same 46.4mm length and width but is slightly thicker at 11.4mm and weighs 60 grams.

Software compatibility includes HarmonyOS 2.0 and newer versions, while the watches can also work with Android and iOS devices. Huawei lists Android 9.0 and newer and iOS 13.0 and newer among the supported platforms.

The Watch 6 series therefore brings together several features that smartwatch buyers now expect, while the 11 day battery claim on the larger models could be particularly appealing to users who prefer less frequent charging. For now, the new watches have been announced for the Chinese market, and details about availability in other regions have not been provided in the supplied information.
