Two brothers drown in lake while washing sheep in Hassan district

Hassan : In a tragic incident reported from Javagal village in Arsikere taluk of Hassan district, two minor brothers drowned in a lake while washing sheep during their school holidays. The deceased have been identified as Imran (15) and Yasin (13), whose untimely death has left the entire village in deep shock.
According to preliminary information, Imran was a Class 10 student, while his younger brother Yasin was studying in Class 8. With schools closed for summer vacation, the siblings had stayed back at home and decided to take their family’s sheep to a nearby lake for washing on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at the Javagal Dodda Kere, located on the outskirts of the village. While cleaning the sheep, one of the boys is said to have accidentally slipped into a deeper portion of the lake. In an attempt to rescue his brother, the other boy also entered the water but tragically drowned.
Local shepherds who were present nearby rushed to help upon hearing cries for assistance. However, by the time help arrived, both boys had already submerged. Fire and emergency personnel were alerted, and a joint rescue operation was launched with the help of villagers.
After several hours of search efforts, the bodies of the two boys were recovered from the lake. The heartbreaking incident has cast a pall of gloom over Javagal village, with residents mourning the loss of the young lives.
The grief-stricken parents broke down inconsolably upon learning about the tragedy, and scenes of anguish were witnessed at their residence. Villagers gathered in large numbers to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
A case has been registered at the Javagal police station, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events. Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution, especially around water bodies during the summer season.
