Major drug bust in Bengaluru: police seize narcotics worth ₹11.86 crore, 10 arrested

Bengaluru : In a major crackdown aimed at making the city drug-free, Bengaluru police have seized narcotics worth ₹11.86 crore in coordinated raids across multiple parts of the city. A total of 10 accused, including two foreign nationals and five individuals from other states, have been arrested in connection with the case.
The large-scale operation was carried out across several police station limits, including Yelahanka, DJ Halli, Banaswadi, Koramangala, Bommanahalli, and Pulikeshi Nagar. Officials said the raids were part of an intensified drive to dismantle drug supply networks operating in the city.
During the operation, police recovered significant quantities of narcotic substances. The seized materials include 5.9 kilograms of MDMA, 1.15 kilograms of cocaine, 21 kilograms of ganja, and 19 grams of ecstasy pills. In addition, a two-wheeler used for transporting the drugs was also confiscated.
Investigations have revealed that the two foreign women arrested in the case were allegedly residing illegally in Bengaluru and were actively involved in supplying drugs to students and IT professionals. This has raised concerns about the growing reach of drug networks targeting young urban populations.
Police officials stated that the accused were part of a well-organised network, sourcing and distributing drugs across key localities in the city. Further investigations are underway to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals linked to the racket.
The latest bust adds to a series of significant drug seizures reported in Bengaluru in recent weeks. On March 12, 2026, a foreign national was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport while attempting to smuggle heroin worth ₹4 crore. On March 28, 2026, synthetic drugs valued at ₹2.5 crore were seized from a Nigerian national in Electronic City.
Earlier, on April 5, 2026, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) busted an international drug network on Doddaballapur Road, recovering narcotics worth ₹5 crore. With the latest seizure on April 16, authorities say efforts to curb drug trafficking in Bengaluru have been significantly intensified.
Senior police officials reiterated their commitment to making the city drug-free and warned of strict action against those involved in the narcotics trade.
