Pakistan Warns India Against Any Action on Bangladesh, Calls for Military Alliance

Islamabad: Pakistan has issued a stern warning to India, stating that any aggressive move against Bangladesh will be met with full-scale support for Dhaka by Pakistani armed forces and missile capabilities.

The alert comes amid escalating tensions between India and Bangladesh, which Pakistan is reportedly seeking to exploit for its strategic advantage.

Kamran Saeed Usmani, leader of the youth wing of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and associate of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stated that “If India dares to attack Bangladesh or undermine its sovereignty, the people of Pakistan, our armed forces, and missile systems will not remain silent. We are prepared to support Bangladesh fully.”

He accused India of trying to assert its ideological dominance over Bangladesh and claimed that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is destabilizing the region. Usmani further alleged that India is attempting to weaken Bangladesh under the concept of a ‘Hindu nation’ within the framework of the Akhand Bharat doctrine.

Urging stronger military cooperation, Usmani proposed a formal military alliance between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He suggested that both countries should establish military presence on each other’s soil to strengthen regional security and counterbalance India’s influence.

“A Pakistan-Bangladesh military partnership will reshape regional power dynamics and help both nations enhance their strategic capabilities globally,” he stated.

While Pakistan’s proposal emphasizes joint defense and strategic alignment, Bangladesh has yet to respond to the offer, leaving the future of the proposed alliance uncertain. Analysts note that such statements reflect Pakistan’s ongoing attempt to influence regional geopolitics and challenge India’s strategic priorities.

The remarks come at a time of heightened regional sensitivities, with India and Bangladesh seeking to manage bilateral relations amid internal and external pressures.

Pakistan’s call for military cooperation with Bangladesh highlights the ongoing complexities in South Asian geopolitics and raises concerns about potential escalation if tensions are not managed diplomatically.
