Israel Launches Airstrikes on Gaza, Killing 24 Palestinians

Israel has once again launched drone and missile strikes on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 24 Palestinians and injuring several others. The attack came on Saturday, November 23, two years after the fighting ceased with a ceasefire agreement on October 10, brokered by the United States between Israel and Hamas.

According to the Israeli military, the airstrikes were in retaliation for a gunfire attack by Hamas militants on Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the airstrikes targeted Hamas positions in the region.

However, the health ministry in Gaza, which is under Hamas control, has condemned the strikes and accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement, resulting in further civilian casualties.

Since the ceasefire was implemented in October, Israel has carried out several attacks on Gaza, and in total, 312 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes.

Hamas has accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire agreement, leading to renewed calls for international pressure on Israel to halt the violence. The recent strikes have sparked widespread condemnation and calls for a return to peace negotiations.

The ceasefire, which came into effect after two years of intense fighting, was hailed by US President Donald Trump as the end of the Gaza war. On October 13, Trump declared that the war in Gaza had officially ended, bringing peace to the region, and he hailed the end of the conflict as a victory for both Israelis and Palestinians.

However, the recent escalation has raised concerns about the fragility of the peace process and the likelihood of renewed hostilities between the two sides. International pressure is expected to increase on both Israel and Hamas to honor the ceasefire and seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
