India rejects Pakistan’s allegations on Balochistan unrest as baseless

New Delhi: India has strongly rejected Pakistan’s allegations that it is involved in creating unrest in Balochistan, calling the claims a desperate attempt by Islamabad to divert attention from its own internal failures. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the accusations as “completely baseless and fabricated.”

Responding to statements made by the Pakistani military establishment, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said such allegations are part of Pakistan’s old strategy of shifting blame whenever it faces internal crises. He emphasized that instead of pointing fingers at India, Pakistan should focus on addressing the genuine grievances of its own people.

“We categorically reject Pakistan’s unfounded allegations. This is a well-known tactic by Islamabad to distract attention from its domestic problems and governance failures,” Jaiswal stated. He further highlighted Pakistan’s long record of oppression, human rights violations and brutal suppression of dissent in Balochistan.

The Indian response came after Pakistan alleged that external forces, particularly India, were involved in recent violent incidents in Balochistan. The Pakistani military claimed that militants were attempting to destabilize peace in several cities of the province.

Earlier, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had claimed responsibility for a series of attacks under its “Operation Heroof Phase II.” According to the group, more than 80 Pakistani soldiers, police personnel and intelligence officials were killed in coordinated operations across Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan and Panjgur.

Pakistan’s security forces, however, gave a different account, stating that at least 67 Baloch militants were killed during counter-terror operations in the southwestern province. Officials also confirmed that around 10 security personnel and 11 civilians lost their lives in the violence.

Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attacks and praised the security forces for their swift response. He claimed that the security agencies successfully foiled several planned terror strikes and neutralized dozens of militants.

India, while reacting to these developments, reiterated that Pakistan must stop using India as a scapegoat for its own policy failures. The MEA spokesperson said Islamabad should focus on engaging constructively with the people of Balochistan and address their long-pending political and economic demands.

“Instead of repeating baseless accusations every time violence erupts, Pakistan needs to introspect and work toward ensuring peace, justice and development in the region,” Jaiswal added.

The exchange marks yet another episode in the ongoing war of words between the two neighboring countries. India has consistently maintained that Balochistan is Pakistan’s internal matter and that New Delhi has no role whatsoever in the unrest there.

Diplomatic experts believe that Pakistan’s repeated allegations reflect its growing insecurity and inability to handle the deteriorating situation in Balochistan. India, on the other hand, has made it clear that it will not be dragged into Islamabad’s internal political narrative.
