Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank Launching in India on September 8

Carrying a power bank does not always have to mean adding a bulky accessory to your bag. Xiaomi is preparing to bring a much slimmer option to the Indian market, designed for users who prefer a lightweight magnetic charging solution.

The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W will officially arrive in India on September 8, 2026. Alongside this model, the company is also expected to introduce the Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 10000 45W. Pricing and availability details for both products have not yet been announced for the Indian market.

The UltraThin model stands out mainly because of its compact design. It measures just 6mm in thickness and weighs approximately 98 grams. Xiaomi has used a high density Silicon Carbon battery to fit a 5000mAh battery into the slim body.

There is an important point to understand about the battery rating. Although the typical capacity is listed at 5000mAh, the rated capacity is 3000mAh at 5V. The two figures are not directly comparable because voltage conversion during charging results in some energy loss.

Magnetic wireless charging is at the heart of the device. With a compatible smartphone, the power bank can attach to the rear of the phone and align itself for charging without requiring the user to press a separate button. The accessory is compatible with MagSafe supported iPhone models starting from the iPhone 12, along with selected smartphones from Xiaomi, Samsung and Google.

However, the advertised 15W wireless charging speed will not apply to every compatible smartphone. Xiaomi says supported iPhone models can receive magnetic wireless charging at up to 7.5W. The actual charging speed therefore depends on the smartphone being used.

For users who want faster charging, the power bank includes a USB Type C port capable of delivering up to 22.5W wired output. It can also charge two devices simultaneously through wired and wireless charging, which could be useful when more than one device needs power.

Despite its thin profile, Xiaomi has included measures to manage heat. The power bank uses a 4369 square millimetre graphite heat dissipation sheet along with dual NTC temperature sensors. These components are intended to help monitor and control temperature during charging.

Safety features include protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuits and overcharging. The device also supports foreign object detection. Four LED indicators show the remaining battery level, while the built in button can be pressed to check the charge status.

The accessory also has a low current mode for smaller devices such as wireless earbuds, smart bands and smartwatches. Users can activate this mode by pressing the button twice, making the power bank more suitable for charging devices that require relatively little power.

Xiaomi has not revealed the Indian price yet. The company has so far confirmed September 8 as the launch date, with the final price and sales information expected to be announced during the launch. Globally, the power bank is offered in Graphite Black, Glacier Silver and Radiant Orange finishes.

The slim construction could be the biggest attraction for buyers who dislike carrying conventional bulky power banks. With magnetic wireless charging, 22.5W wired output and a lightweight body, Xiaomi is positioning the UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank as a convenient everyday charging accessory.
