Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 Faces Permission Hurdle Before September 6 Premiere

The upcoming Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 has run into a fresh administrative hurdle ahead of its planned television premiere. Although preparations for the reality show are reportedly underway at Jaallywood Studios in the Bidadi industrial area, the organizers have not yet submitted an application to the district administration seeking permission to conduct the programme.

The development has raised questions about whether the show will begin as scheduled on September 6. The Kannada edition is expected to return with its 13th season, but the necessary approvals from the concerned authorities remain an important part of the process.

Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner Yashwanth Gurukar has said that his office has not received an application seeking permission to conduct the Bigg Boss show. He made it clear that the administration will examine the request according to the applicable rules once the organizers formally submit their application.

The issue is not limited to the district administration. Authorities have also been looking into environmental permissions connected with the studio premises. According to information shared by environmental officials, Jaallywood has obtained consent for establishment from the pollution control authorities, while the approval process is still pending at the board level.

The district administration has indicated that it will follow the directions issued by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board while dealing with the matter. However, the absence of a formal application for conducting the reality show means the permission process for the programme itself has not yet begun with the district authorities.

Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy has also commented on the matter during a press interaction in Bengaluru. He said permission is mandatory for conducting the reality show and that the authorities will examine the details provided by the organizers before taking a decision.

According to the minister, officials will study the information submitted in the application and discuss the relevant aspects before deciding whether the required permission can be granted. The government is expected to take the necessary steps once the organizers complete the formal process.

The timing has become significant because the television channel has already announced September 6 as the premiere date for Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13. With only a short period remaining before the planned launch, the pending permissions have naturally created uncertainty around the schedule.

The Bidadi studio has already been prepared for the new season, indicating that production arrangements are moving ahead. However, having a completed set does not replace the approvals required from government departments and local authorities.

The situation also comes amid wider attention on permissions for reality television productions. Authorities are expected to check matters covered under the relevant rules before allowing a large scale programme to proceed.

Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 is part of the wider Bigg Boss franchise, with the Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu editions also scheduled around the same period. The Kannada season is therefore facing an important administrative checkpoint just days before its announced television debut.
