Poco M8 Power India Launch Confirmed With Massive 8000mAh Battery

Poco has confirmed the India launch of the M8 Power on August 4 with a huge 8000mAh battery AMOLED display and long battery life while more specifications are expected soon.

Poco is preparing to expand its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Poco M8 Power. The company has officially confirmed that the device will debut on August 4, and early teasers suggest that its biggest attraction will be a massive 8000mAh battery designed for extended usage without frequent charging.

Ahead of the launch, Poco has also made the smartphone’s Flipkart microsite live, offering a first look at the upcoming device. The promotional material reveals an AMOLED display and a square shaped rear camera module that houses dual cameras along with an LED flash. The phone has been showcased in an eye catching orange finish, while additional color options may be announced later.

The company claims that the large 8000mAh battery can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge under normal conditions. This makes the Poco M8 Power an attractive option for users who prioritize long battery life for gaming, streaming, travel, and everyday tasks.

Although Poco has not revealed the complete specifications yet, industry reports indicate that the Poco M8 Power could arrive as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17, which was recently introduced in China. If that turns out to be accurate, Indian buyers can expect hardware similar to the Redmi branded model.

The Redmi Note 17 features a 7 inch Full HD Plus OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness of up to 1800 nits. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor paired with an Adreno GPU and runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 includes a 50 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while the front houses an 8 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The device also supports video recording at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The battery technology is another highlight of the Redmi Note 17. It packs an 8000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge other compatible devices when needed. The phone also includes an in display optical fingerprint scanner for security.

While Poco has not officially confirmed whether the Indian model will carry all of these specifications, the similarities between the teaser and the Redmi Note 17 have fueled expectations that the Poco M8 Power will offer nearly identical hardware.

More information regarding pricing, storage variants, processor details, camera capabilities, and availability will be announced during the official launch event on August 4. Until then, the Poco M8 Power is shaping up to be a strong contender in the budget smartphone segment, especially for users looking for exceptional battery endurance combined with a modern AMOLED display.
