Google Pixel 11 Series Expected to Cost More as Memory Prices Rise

Google is preparing to unveil its next generation Pixel 11 smartphone lineup next month, but buyers may have to pay more than expected. The company has confirmed that rising costs of memory and storage components will result in higher prices for its upcoming flagship smartphones, reflecting a challenge currently affecting the entire smartphone industry.

The upcoming lineup is expected to include the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google is likely to introduce the new devices during its Made by Google event scheduled for August 12 in select international markets.

According to a media report quoting a senior Google executive, the increase in memory component prices has significantly impacted the company’s hardware division. The executive noted that this is not an issue unique to Google, as most smartphone manufacturers are facing similar cost pressures. As a result, premium smartphone prices across the market are expected to continue rising.

The company also indicated that the impact of these higher manufacturing costs may not be limited to the upcoming Pixel 11 family. Existing models in the Pixel 10 series could also see price revisions in certain markets.

Early pricing estimates suggest that the base Google Pixel 11 could debut in Europe at around EUR 999. The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to start at approximately EUR 1,199, while the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL could carry a starting price of about EUR 1,399. Official regional pricing will be announced during the launch event.

Alongside the new smartphones, Google has teased a fresh visual design element called Pixel Glow. Instead of using a traditional light strip, the company has integrated this illuminated feature into a circular section beside the camera bar on the rear panel. Promotional material shared on the Google Store homepage showcases the lighting effect in multiple colors, hinting at a distinctive new design identity for the Pixel lineup.

The teaser also features a gold colored Pixel smartphone and confirms the August 12 Made by Google event. While the company has revealed the existence of Pixel Glow, it has not yet explained how the feature will function or whether users will be able to customize its lighting effects.

Apart from the new design language, Google is expected to focus on premium hardware and advanced AI powered software capabilities with the Pixel 11 series. However, complete specifications, regional availability, and additional features will only be confirmed during the official announcement.

With increasing component costs shaping smartphone pricing worldwide, the Pixel 11 series is set to enter the flagship market with a higher price tag, while introducing a refreshed design that could help distinguish Google’s latest devices from previous generations.
