Philips S7221 5G Launched In India With 64MP Camera And 5700mAh Battery

Philips has launched the S7221 5G in India with a 120Hz display, 64MP camera, 5700mAh battery, 5G connectivity and Android 16 at a starting price of ₹20,499.

Philips has entered the Indian smartphone market with its new S7221 5G model. The phone brings several features aimed at users looking for a large battery, 5G connectivity and a high refresh rate display without moving into the premium price segment.

The Philips S7221 5G is available in two memory configurations. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model is priced at ₹20,499, while the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs ₹22,499. The smartphone is available through Amazon and comes in Black, Blue and Grey colour options.

Battery capacity is one of the key highlights of the new Philips phone. It packs a 5700mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. The combination is designed to provide enough power for regular daily activities such as watching videos, browsing the internet, using social media and making calls.

On the front, the phone features a 6.67 inch HD LCD display. It has a resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate should make scrolling through supported apps and menus feel smoother compared with standard 60Hz panels.

The device is powered by the octa core Spreadtrum T765 chipset. Philips has paired the processor with up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs Android 16 out of the box, giving buyers access to a newer Android platform from the start.

Photography is handled by a 64MP primary rear camera. On the front, there is a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. The camera software includes features such as AI scene optimisation and portrait mode, giving users additional options when taking photographs.

Philips has also focused on the audio experience. The S7221 5G comes with dual stereo speakers and an Ultra Max mode designed to provide louder audio output. This could be useful for users who regularly watch videos or listen to other content directly through the phone’s speakers.

The smartphone supports dual Nano SIM functionality along with 5G connectivity. Other connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. A USB Type C port is also provided for charging and wired connections.

For protection against everyday exposure to dust and water splashes, the Philips S7221 5G carries an IP64 rating. The phone also has a side mounted fingerprint sensor for unlocking the device and providing an additional security option.

In terms of physical dimensions, the handset measures 166mm in length, 77mm in width and 8.95mm in thickness. It weighs around 200 grams. These dimensions place the phone in the larger smartphone category, partly due to its sizeable display and battery.

The new Philips model is positioned in a competitive part of India’s smartphone market, where buyers have several options offering 5G connectivity and large batteries. Its combination of a 5700mAh battery, 64MP camera, 120Hz display and Android 16 gives the S7221 5G a broad feature set at its starting price.

The 6GB version is aimed at buyers who want to keep the initial cost lower, while the 8GB model offers more memory for users who regularly keep multiple applications open. Both variants come with 128GB of storage.

With its latest launch, Philips is looking to attract customers who want essential modern smartphone features along with a large battery and 5G support. The S7221 5G will be available through Amazon, giving Indian buyers another option in the mid range smartphone market.
