The content may still remain on the original website where it was published. This means users should also contact the website owner or administrator and request deletion of the content at its source for complete protection.
Another common issue involves outdated information that continues to appear in search results even after it has been removed from a website. To address this, Google offers a Remove Outdated Content tool. By submitting the specific page URL, users can ask Google to refresh its search index and remove references to content that no longer exists.
The same process can be used for images. If an old photograph has already been deleted from a website but still appears in Google Images, users can copy the image URL and submit a removal request through Google’s dedicated tools.
After a request is submitted, Google sends a confirmation message and reviews the case. The company evaluates requests by balancing individual privacy concerns with public interest considerations. As a result, not every request is guaranteed approval. Once a decision is made, users receive a notification explaining whether the request has been accepted or declined.
