Huawei Nova 16s Pro Launched With 200MP Camera, 7000mAh Battery And 100W Charging

Huawei has expanded its Nova 16s lineup in the global market with the new Nova 16s Pro. The company has positioned the Pro model as the more feature packed smartphone in the series, particularly for users who want a strong camera setup and a large battery.

The smartphone has been introduced in Germany, although Huawei has not yet revealed its official price on the company website. The Nova 16s Pro is listed in Isle Blue, Breathing Crystal and Starry Black colour options.

One of the biggest highlights of the phone is its camera hardware. Huawei has fitted a 200MP RYYB Ultra Vision main sensor with a large 1/1.28 inch sensor size. Optical image stabilisation and AI based image stabilisation are included to help improve image capture.

The camera system does not stop at the main sensor. A 50MP RYYB periscope telephoto camera is also included, offering 3.7 times optical zoom and up to 100 times digital zoom. This camera also gets OIS and AIS support.

A 50MP RYYB ultrawide camera forms the third part of the setup. It offers a 118 degree field of view, making it useful for wider scenes and group photographs. Huawei has also added a 1.5MP multispectral sensor, which is designed to improve colour reproduction and deliver more accurate colours in photographs.

The selfie arrangement is equally interesting. The Nova 16s Pro carries a 50MP Ultra Portrait Camera on the front with a 1/2.5 inch sensor. It supports zoom from 0.8 times to 5 times. Alongside it sits a 1.5MP true colour camera that is designed to improve colour accuracy at the pixel level.

The display is another major attraction. Huawei has equipped the phone with a 6.84 inch OLED panel featuring a 2856 by 1320 pixel resolution. The screen supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, which can help balance smooth visuals with power consumption.

The display uses a 2.5D flat design with slim bezels and offers a claimed peak brightness of 6000 nits. Huawei has also included AI HDR support and 2160Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The company says the display is designed to provide a more comfortable viewing experience in low light conditions.

Under the hood, the Nova 16s Pro uses Huawei’s Kirin 9010S octa core chipset. The smartphone runs Android 16 based EMUI 16 out of the box. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB, giving buyers two choices depending on their storage requirements.

Huawei has also added AI gesture features to the phone. One example highlighted by the company allows users to trigger a selfie using a hand gesture in front of the screen, reducing the need to touch the phone while taking a photograph.

Thermal management has received attention as well. The company says the smartphone uses micro level stainless steel etching technology along with an ultra slim vapour chamber frame. Huawei claims this cooling system helps move heat away from internal components during demanding usage.

Battery capacity is another standout feature. The Nova 16s Pro comes with a 7000mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging. The combination is aimed at users who spend long hours on their phones and want faster charging when the battery runs low.

The connectivity package includes Bluetooth 6.0, Bluetooth Low Energy, SBC, AAC, LDAC and L2HC audio support. The phone also features USB Type C connectivity, USB 2.0, a Type C earphone interface, NFC and navigation systems including GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou.

For audio, Huawei has provided symmetrical dual stereo speakers with a claimed 100 degree ultra wide soundstage. This setup is designed to provide a broader audio experience while watching videos, playing games or listening to music.

Despite the large battery and extensive camera hardware, the phone measures only 7.1mm in thickness. It weighs 218 grams, placing it on the heavier side compared with some slim smartphones, but the specifications suggest Huawei has focused on packing substantial hardware into a relatively thin body.

The Huawei Nova 16s Pro therefore stands out mainly through its camera system, large battery, high brightness OLED display and fast charging support. The 200MP main camera is likely to be one of the biggest talking points, while the additional telephoto, ultrawide and multispectral sensors give the phone a versatile photography setup.

Huawei has not announced the global price of the Nova 16s Pro at the time of its listing. More information about regional pricing and availability is expected to become clearer as the smartphone reaches additional markets.
