Districts under the alert include Shivamogga, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Haveri, Gadag, Dharwad, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi. A cyclonic system formed in the Bay of Bengal has led to a weather disturbance, which is expected to impact the weather across Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the coming days.

The IMD has advised residents and local authorities in the affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
Chances of rain in these states:
Rains are likely to continue for the next 4-5 days in the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some places in these areas.
At the same time, a new Western Disturbance is active over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely to occur over these areas for the next two-three days.

Also, strong winds may blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour. Thunderstorms are also likely in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Telangana, especially in the evening. At the same time, intermittent light rains are likely over Kerala.
