BJP leaders slam Priyank Kharge over RSS remarks; call statements baseless

Mysuru: Former BJP MP Pratap Simha has strongly criticized Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for his recent remarks calling for a ban on the RSS, questioning the feasibility of such a move. Speaking to the media in Mysuru, Simha said, “Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi never banned the RSS. Now you, whose hands are linked with Rajiv Gandhi’s daughter, claim it’s possible?”

Simha added, “Priyank Kharge has become overly ambitious in his political publicity. As a minister, he speaks indiscriminately, thinking he can say anything. Nobody can ban the RSS. Two and a half years have passed under this government, yet his record in rural development, Panchayat Raj, and IT-BT sectors is nil. He is an ineffective minister. Before making such statements, he should read the Constitution.”

He also highlighted regional issues: “Even in Kalaburagi, Priyank Kharge has done nothing as a minister. People there still struggle to obtain Aadhaar cards. The district’s educational performance lags behind, yet he talks about banning the RSS.

Meanwhile, in Mysuru, a girl was murdered in Kalaburagi, and he says nothing. He projects himself in the media as a big personality, but what contribution has he made as a minister for his own constituency?”

Commenting on other political figures, Simha said, “Ministers like Santosh Lad and MLA Pradeep Eshwar have no work, yet speaking daily is your main job.”

Simha’s remarks were echoed by former Deputy CM K.S. Eshwarappa, who said, “Junior politicians like Priyank Kharge and B.K. Hariprasad are making baseless statements about the RSS. The organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has received international recognition for its work in nationalism.

Yet, petty politicians are spreading misinformation. If such letters are sent to the government, the Chief Minister should have directly addressed them or corrected them. Instead, the letter was simply forwarded to the Chief Secretary, showing Siddaramaiah’s prudence in handling the matter.”

Responding to DK Shivakumar’s recent comments, Simha remarked, “Shivakumar should focus on developing his personality rather than dreaming of becoming CM. The public observes their conduct, and such behavior will not lead to leadership positions. He should change his approach if he wants to remain relevant.”

The strong criticism reflects growing political tensions in Karnataka, with BJP leaders accusing ministers of misusing their positions while making provocative statements about national organizations.
