Weather Alert: After a scorching summer, India experienced a sudden change in weather with a drop in temperature. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning on Tuesday afternoon, predicting light to moderate rainfall in several areas. Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall Issued red alert in Karnataka.
Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Bihar, East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, Punjab, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has said that light to moderate rainfall is likely in the national capital along with hail, thundershowers and gusty winds.

The southwest monsoon has advanced further and covers parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar, the department said.
Karnataka weather update:
The department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain and issued red alert in areas of South Karnataka. While, light to moderate rain is likely to take place in many places including Tumakuru, Ballari, Vijayanagar, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban), Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Ramanagara, Kolar, Mandya Chamarajanagar, Davangere and districts.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with sustained winds at one or two places across Belagavi district. While, districts including Bidar, Bagalkot, Koppal, Gadag, Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Raichur, Dharwad, Haveri and Yadgir are likely to observe Light to moderate rain.
