Heavy Rainfall in Udupi: Due to heavy rainfall Udupi district administration has declared a holiday for anganwadis, primary and high schools in districts including government, aided and unaided private schools on Tuesday, June 17, as a safety precaution.

The order issued by District collectors, the anganwadis, primary and high schools in districts including government, aided and unaided private schools. The coastal districts are expected to be heavy rain from June 17 to 20, while some of the northern and southern inland areas are also expected.

The Red Alert has been announced on June 17, with heavy rainfall in some parts of Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts. Orange Alert has been announced on June 17 for Belagavi and Hassan districts.
Since June 18, Karnataka has been more likely to reduce rainfall and sorting across the state. The weather department said that on June 17, there is a modest rainfall in some parts of Bangalore.

The southwest monsoon rains have continued in most districts of Kerala, and the state is on high alert. As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki and Kottayam on Monday (June 16, 2025).
