Two sisters arrested in Bhopal over alleged rape, forced conversion and sex trafficking racket

New Delhi : A shocking case has surfaced in Bhopal, where two sisters have been arrested on charges of rape, forced religious conversion and running an alleged sexual exploitation racket under the guise of offering jobs to young women.

The accused, identified as Afreen and Amreen, were taken into custody following two separate complaints filed by a 21-year-old beautician from Chhattisgarh and a 30-year-old domestic worker from Bhopal. Police said three other accused — Bilal, Yasir and Chandan Yadav — are currently absconding.

According to the FIR registered at Bagsewania Police Station, the sisters allegedly targeted girls from financially weak backgrounds by luring them with promises of employment. Once trust was established, the victims were allegedly drugged, sexually assaulted and later blackmailed.

The 21-year-old complainant stated that in November 2025, Amreen took her to Abbas Nagar in Bhopal to meet relatives. There, Bilal allegedly mixed drugs in her tea, rendering her unconscious before sexually assaulting her.

The victim further alleged that in December, she was taken to Ahmedabad on the pretext of personal work, where a man named Yasir also raped her.

She has accused Chandan Yadav, said to be a close aide of Amreen, of repeatedly sexually assaulting her between August 2025 and January 2026.

The victim claimed that photographs were taken during the assaults and used to blackmail her into silence. She also alleged that she was forced to visit pubs, consume drugs and was pressured to convert her religion and wear a burqa.

The survivor eventually escaped in January and returned to Bhopal in February, where she lodged a formal complaint, leading to the exposure of the alleged racket.

In a separate complaint, a domestic worker employed at Amreen’s residence made similar allegations, accusing the same men of forcing her to consume drugs and subjecting her to gang rape. She reportedly submitted video evidence to the police.

Police have booked the accused under sections related to rape, criminal conspiracy and forced religious conversion. Investigations are underway.

The sisters were reportedly living in a luxury apartment in the Sagar Royal Villas colony in Hoshangabad area of Bhopal. Neighbours claimed that frequent late-night visits by men had raised suspicion. Local Hindu organisations have staged protests and announced awareness campaigns for women in the city.

Police sources revealed that the sisters had earlier lived in a modest locality in Abbas Nagar before moving to the upscale residence, allegedly funded through illegal activities.
