Ration card new rules: Do this before March 31, otherwise your ration will stop
Ration card new rules: major news is here for Ration Card holders. Some people will not be able to get ration from 1 April. Do this before March 31 otherwise your ration will stop. The government has made it compulsory for all the holders of ration cards to undergo the E-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process by March 31, 2025.
Otherwise, they will lose the facility of subsidised food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS). According to reports, approximately 7.55 lakh individuals are still to undergo this process and stand to lose their benefits.

The government launched e-KYC to check fraud and duplication in the Public Distribution System (PDS). This ensures that only genuine beneficiaries get subsidized food, eliminating ineligible or fake ration card holders.
Who need to do E-KYC:
Your Aadhaar is not linked to your ration card
You have yet to undertake biometric verification in the ration shop or online
Your information is incomplete or erroneous in government databses
The process of documents required for e-KYC verification is simple. Since the ration card is an e-KYC Aadhaar-based authentication, the only document required is the Aadhaar card.
To undergo ration card e-KYC, beneficiaries will need to provide their Aadhaar card and biometrics and no other document is required.

Step to do ration card E-KYC verification online:
Visit the official website of your state government’s Public Distribution System (PDS).
Go to the e-KYC section under ‘Ration Card Services’, ‘E-Services’ or ‘Update Details’ on the homepage.
Fill in the ration card number. Check if the mobile number linked with Aadhaar is active.
A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Fill in the OTP on the registered portal to further verify your Aadhaar.
After being successfully verified, your e-KYC will be updated.
