IMD issued heavy rainfall alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall over the next few days for several states, with particularly severe alerts for parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

States with Severe Alerts (Red/Orange):
Maharashtra:
Red Alert has been issued for several districts including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Nashik, Dhule, and Nandurbar for extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of the Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra region.
Orange Alert is also in place for other districts like Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Jalgaon, and Pune for very heavy rainfall. Widespread rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across the state, with risks of urban flooding, landslides in Ghat areas, and riverine flooding.
Gujarat (Saurashtra & Kutch):
A Red Alert has been issued for the Saurashtra and Kutch regions for extremely heavy rainfall. An Orange Alert is also active for most parts of the Gujarat region. Other States with Heavy Rainfall Warnings (Heavy to Very Heavy – Yellow/Orange).

Telangana:
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in isolated places, with a wet spell expected to continue for several days.
Konkan & Goa:
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue at isolated places. Northeast India (Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on some days of the forecast period.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh:
Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.
Chhattisgarh:
Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places.
Madhya Pradesh (East & West):
Isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are expected in parts of the region.
